Work is underway within the European Union to revise European animal welfare legislation. It is looking forward to the proposals that the European Union will offer for better animal welfare. For now, the review of European legislation is not going as expected. A full review of European animal welfare legislation is overdue.

With the one-day symposium 'Call to Care for Animal Welfare', we are seizing the opportunity to put animal welfare higher on the European agenda and encourage the European Union towards further review and paying more structural attention to animals.

Animal welfare covers a wide range of topics. A number of topics where improvement is still desirable will be explained and critiqued in more practical terms during the event.
